Parliament’s special session on the Women’s Reservation Bill begins today; PM Modi to initiate the discussion. The Lok Sabha is scheduled to hold 18 hours of debate today and tomorrow, while 10 hours have been allotted for the Rajya Sabha on April 18. The government is also set to introduce the Delimitation Bill, a Constitutional Amendment Bill, and a Bill to amend laws pertaining to Union Territories.

A major showdown is anticipated in Parliament over the Delimitation Bill, as the Opposition has decided to register its protest. Kharge alleged that the Bill is being introduced improperly solely for electoral gain, while Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Constitutional Amendment Bill is being brought forward to undermine the rights of OBCs. The Samajwadi Party (SP) has also announced that it will oppose the Delimitation Bill.

CM Yogi takes a major decision regarding the workers’ protests in Noida: there will be no compromise on the rights of any worker. All workers are set to receive enhanced wages starting April 1. A significant revelation has emerged regarding the violence that occurred during the protests: out of the 66 accused arrested so far, 45 are not workers. Directives have been issued to display photographs of the rioters at prominent intersections across Noida.
