1757 का प्लासी युद्ध हो या फिर 1857 का सिपाही विद्रोह..प्लासी की लड़ाई क बाद ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने बहरामपुर को अपनी छावनी बनाई…1870 तक अंग्रेजों का ये अहम सैनिक ठिकाना रहा….बहरामपुर ने सबकुछ अपनी आंखो से देखा है..यहां की मिट्टी.. यहां की गलियां..यहां चौक चौराहे…हिंदुस्तान की राजनीति के बदलाव का गवाह रही है..आज भी कुछ बदला नही हैं…पहले भी बहरामपुर का हिंदुस्तान की सियासत में रोल रहा है और आज भी बहरामपुर सियासत का बड़ा सेंटर है..यहां की आवाज पूरे बंगाल में सुनी जाती है। इस बार भी बहरामपुर बंगाल चुनाव का सबसे हॉट सेंटर बना हुआ है…यहां पर तृणमूल कांग्रेस बीजेपी कांग्रेस लेफ्ट में चौतरफा लड़ाई है..और हुमायूं कबीर की एंट्री ने बहरामपुर की सियासी जंग को और भी दिलचस्प बना दिया है…उसकी वजह है यहां का धर्मकांटा ।
