K Shanmugam on Strait of Hormuz and navigational rights
Singapore is “very wary” of countries treating navigational rights as privileges to be negotiated or paid for, said Coordinating Minister for National Security K Shanmugam on Monday (Apr 13).

He said international law guarantees the right of free transit passage through key straits, with no country able to impose tolls or restrict access.

Mr Shanmugam added that the implications of blockades on the Strait of Hormuz and other key shipping lanes are “particularly concerning”. #singapore #sgnews
