Israel’s Netanyahu says war to continue in Lebanon
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on April 12 that the war in Lebanon will continue. Israel intensified its air attacks on Lebanon after Hezbollah fired missiles at Israel on March 2, three days into the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. Israel has since widened a ground invasion into Lebanon’s south, ordering hundreds of thousands of Lebanese to flee villages it views as Hezbollah strongholds. At least 1,888 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon, while at least two Israelis have been killed by Hezbollah rocket fire.
Israeli and Lebanese envoys are expected to meet in Washington on April 14 for peace talks.
