Throughout America’s ongoing war with Iran, Trump has made varying statements on strategy, allies, and escalation, drawing scrutiny both domestically and internationally.

The US president had earlier asked his NATO allies to help America secure the strait of Hormuz but in the same breath declared he doesn’t need them as the US military is self sufficient.

In another such flip-flop last month, Trump had threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s energy infrastructure if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

However, he quickly walked back the timeline, first delaying action by five days and then extending it further, citing ongoing negotiations with the Iranian regime.

Trump’s regular commentary on the war has drawn criticism from political commentators who have called out his moves as “impulsive” and “unpredictable”.
