Spring migration peaks at north China’s Hengshui Lake
Spring migration has reached its peak at Hengshui Lake in north China’s Hebei Province, where tens of thousands of migratory birds are stopping to rest, refuel, and breed.
As a national nature reserve preserving a complete wetland ecosystem on the North China Plain, and a key stop along the East Asia-Australasia Flyway, the lake has recorded 337 bird species, with peak populations exceeding 100,000.
