A letter across time: A son remembers his fallen hero father at the border
During the Qingming Festival, a memorial ceremony was held in Jiangcheng County, along China’s southwestern border in Yunnan Province, to honor Yang Jungang, who lost his life during an anti-drug trafficking operation. Former colleagues gathered to pay their respects, but this year’s tribute carried added poignancy. Among them was his 15-year-old son, visiting the site for the first time, carrying a letter to the father he never had the chance to say goodbye to.
