An Iranian parliamentary commission approved plans to collect tolls on vessels passing the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian state media reported on Monday. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump had threatened that the US will “completely” obliterate Iran’s oil wells and Kharg Island if the Strait of Hormuz is not “immediately” reopened and a peace deal is not reached “shortly.” For its part, the International Monetary Fund warned that “all roads lead to higher prices and slower growth worldwide.” Could this be a long-lasting structural oil repricing or short-term volatility?
