Trump’s comments on NATO as he threatens to quit alliance
President Trump has recently scaled up threats to pull the U.S. out of the NATO alliance if European states don’t help stop Iran from threatening the Strait of Hormuz. Trump told Reuters he was “absolutely” considering withdrawing the U.S. from the pact, a treaty organization ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1949.
