China, Pakistan unveil five-point initiative on restoring peace in Mideast
China and Pakistan put forward a five-point initiative for restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East during talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Beijing on Tuesday.
The two sides are calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the start of peace talks, humanitarian assistance, security of shipping lanes and the protection of civilians. Wang said the strategic communication between the two sides on major regional issues represents a shared Chinese-Pakistani commitment.
