Brother, 7, Tried to Rescue Younger Sister In Swimming Pool; Both Drown In Gujarat’s Rajkot
The tragic incident occurred between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM when the two children of a Nepali family, who were working as cleaners in the building, wandered near the swimming pool while playing. The 5-year-old sister entered the deep pool meant for older children and began drowning. Her 7-year-old brother rushed to save her, but both ended up drowning due to the depth of the water.Residents and the children’s parents immediately pulled the siblings out of the pool and rushed them to the hospital in a 108 ambulance. Doctors declared both children dead on arrival.The deceased have been identified as Deepesh Karanbhai Bhandari (7 years) and Depsika Karanbhai Bhandari (5 years). The family, originally from Nepal, had been working in Sopan Heights for the past 14 days.Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have initiated further investigation.
