CNA Immigration clearance: Motorcyclists to switch to face scans, starting at Woodlands Checkpoint
Inbound motorcyclists at Singapore’s land checkpoints can soon clear immigration faster with a new face scan. This kicks off at Woodlands Checkpoint from the end of March. The face scan replaces fingerprint scanners, which can be unreliable in rainy conditions. Following a three-month trial, the face recognition system has been enhanced to better identify partially covered faces, with on-screen prompts added. Nikhil Khattar with more.
