NASA held a public event Tuesday to outline the agency’s efforts to return America to the surface of the Moon by 2028.

“This time, the goal is not flags and footprints, this time the goal is to stay,” NASA Administrator Jared Issacman said, adding “America will never again give up the moon.”

“NASA is committed to achieving the near-impossible once again, to return to the Moon before the end of President Trump’s term, build a Moon base, establish an enduring presence,” Issacman said.
