Al Jazeera English Israel strikes Lebanon: Attacks target capital Beirut and southern region

Israel has issued new evacuation orders for residential buildings in Tyre and carried out seven airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs overnight. Israeli forces are conducting what they describe as a limited ground operation along Lebanon’s southern border, engaging Hezbollah fighters in at least 13 villages.

More than 1,000 people have been killed and thousands displaced since the offensive began. UN peacekeepers report Israeli military activity near their positions, with projectiles landing inside their compounds.
