Jump in the pilot seat of Edmonton’s high-speed drone races
The Northern Alberta FPV League hosts indoor drone races in venues across Edmonton. Pilots navigate small drones through obstacle courses using goggles that provide an immersive first person perspective, or First Person View.
‘Inside the Goggles’ is a short documentary from CBC’s Creator Network that highlights the passionate pilots behind Edmonton’s FPV drone racing scene. What begins as a high-speed, immersive sport quickly reveals a grassroots culture built on collaboration, mentorship and creativity.
Through the stories of local racers, the film shows how a group of hobbyists turned a technical challenge into a thriving community that shares knowledge, supports newcomers and gives back through charity events and youth outreach.
