Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has died from injuries sustained during recent U.S.–Israel strikes in the ongoing Middle East conflict, Iranian state media report.

Khojasteh — who was married to Khamenei since the 1960s and mother of six children — had reportedly been critically injured in the strike that also killed the Supreme Leader, and her death marks another significant and emotional development in the region’s rapidly escalating hostilities.
