CNA NS is a duty, not a transaction: Chan Chun Sing

National Service is not a transactional relationship, said Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing in parliament on Friday (Feb 27).

“No amount of monetary compensation can be equated with the contributions of our NSmen,” he said, noting that many serve beyond their initial two years.

Mr Chan was responding to MP Kenneth Tiong’s queries on compensation for NSmen.
