New China TV Behind ice: We’re guardians of the rails

Throughout the winter months, the Taihang Mountains have big day-night temperature swings, and water seeps into tunnels, forming ice that can threaten train safety. From November to March, the “ice workers” stay deep in the mountains for over four months, guarding the trains and keeping passengers safe.
