BBC Apologises After Racial Slur Aired During BAFTA Film Awards Broadcast | WION

The BBC has apologised after a racial slur was broadcast during coverage of the BAFTA Film Awards 2026. The incident occurred when a guest with Tourette’s syndrome shouted an offensive word while actors Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting an award.

The ceremony aired on a delay, but the moment was not edited out before transmission and was initially available on iPlayer. The BBC has since apologised and confirmed the segment will be removed. BAFTA has also acknowledged the incident, expressing regret over the harm caused.
