Giant pandas make public debut at Xinjiang zoo #coolchina
Two giant pandas, Bao Yuan and De Rui, made their public debut Thursday at the Urumqi Water Park Zoo and are fast adapting to their new environment. The pair, who come from the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda in Sichuan Province, quickly drew crowds of excited visitors. Their bamboo diet is cold-chain shipped from Sichuan, while climate-controlled facilities and trained staff help them adjust comfortably to Xinjiang’s conditions.
