Having lived in China, Myllyvirta recalled a defining moment in Beijing that made the scale and speed of the transition tangible. At an event featuring a clean energy startup co-founder, a room full of enthusiastic young people listening intently highlighted the strong ambition and conviction behind China’s clean energy future.
According to CREA’s February 5 report, China’s clean energy industries generated more than 15.4 trillion yuan (about $2.1 trillion) in 2025, a scale comparable to the GDP of major economies such as Canada or Brazil, underscoring the sector’s growing role as a key engine of economic growth.
