World’s first wind-powered commercial underwater data center officially put into use
China officially put into use the world’s first commercial underwater data center project powered by an offshore wind farm. The facility, hosting groups of modular data units, will be cooled by seawater and powered by offshore wind energy, achieving sustainable energy use and zero carbon emissions. Furthermore, it will explore cross-border data services for sectors including e-commerce, high-end shipping and international trade.
