Breezy Johnson On Competing On The Same Course
U.S. skier Breezy Johnson joins TODAY from Cortina to talk about winning the gold medal in the women’s downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Johnson thought her Olympic dreams were dashed in 2022 when she injured her knee in a crash just weeks before the Beijing Games. The devastation took place in Cortina, Italy — the same location she competed this week, hoping for redemption.

“The best way for me to compete is to know that, though tough things can happen, it’s still worth it in the end,” Johnson said on “TODAY.” “Going out and giving it your all despite the risks is something that not a lot of people can do. To be able to put your whole heart into something that can be so dangerous is something that I consider to be an accomplishment in itself.” #TODAYShow
