CNA EU designates Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there are no meetings planned with the US, amid threats to retaliate against Washington should it attack. Mr Araghchi is in Türkiye for talks, as Ankara attempts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Europe has piled pressure on Iran over a deadly crackdown on protesters. The EU has designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation. Washington has welcomed the move, but Tehran has slammed it as “dangerous, illegal and unjustified”.
