CNA Economic Strategy Review: AI won’t replace every job, says David Neo

AI integration into the workforce should be “great news” for Singapore given its perpetual issues surrounding manpower, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth David Neo said on Thursday (Jan 29). “The appearance of a technology that can actually increase multiple fold the productivity of each person should be great news to us,” he said, adding that with AI, “every Singaporean can do way more”.

Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong added that the government acknowledges the anxieties among Singaporean workers and assured that the government will support them “every step of the way”.
