Several Asian countries have stepped up airport screening for the Nipah virus after India confirmed 2 cases in West Bengal state since December 2025.

On Wednesday (Jan 28), Singapore said it will conduct temperature screenings for flights from affected areas, joining countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Nepal, which have also stepped up monitoring.
