New York City records highest snowfall total in nearly 4 years, storm paralyzes other parts of state

While weather experts anticipated more snow to fall in New York City during a winter storm that started on Friday and lasted into Saturday, the 4.3 inches of white stuff that did fall was the most since Jan. 28-29, 2022.

The biggest snowfall totals were north and east of New York City and the highest total recorded was 9.1 inches in New Fairfield, Conn.

More than 1,500 flights were cancelled Friday and Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm.
