Al Jazeera English Prayers for Libyan General Killed in crash: Coffins arrive in Tripoli ahead of funeral service

Libya mourns the death of General Muhammad al-Haddad, a unifying and charismatic leader who played a key role in easing tensions and fostering peace in Tripoli. Thousands of Libyans have gathered to offer condolences to his family in Misrata, where funeral preparations continue. Haddad’s deputy, General Salah al-Namrouj, has been temporarily appointed, but replacing a figure of his influence will be challenging. Meanwhile, tensions persist in other regions, including continued Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank.
