CNA Japan’s Takaichi Cabinet approves record US$783 billion budget for next year

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s Cabinet has approved a record 122.3 trillion yen – or US$783 billion budget for the next fiscal year, starting April. The amount set aside for defence spending is also the largest ever, at more than US$57 billion. Michiyo Ishida has more.
