Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed railway enters service, slashing travel time to 1 hour

The Xi’an-Yan’an High-Speed Railway began operations on Friday, marking a key addition to China’s national high-speed rail network and strengthening connectivity in the northwest.
Designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h, it cuts the fastest travel time between Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, and Yan’an, China’s sacred revolutionary heartland, to about one hour, down from several hours previously.
The 299-kilometer line is part of the Baotou-Yinchuan-Haikou corridor, a key part of the country’s rail network that links major regions.
