Global NewsGlobal National: Nov. 24, 2025 | Kremlin rejects “unconstructive” Ukraine peace counter-proposal
The so-called “28-point plan” to end the war in Ukraine has been criticized for heavily favouring Russia and requiring Ukraine to relinquish territory. In response, a European counter-proposal places Ukraine’s sovereignty at the centre of any potential agreement. However, the Kremlin has already labelled this counter-proposal as “unconstructive and not acceptable.” Redmond Shannon reports.
In the U.S., a judge has dismissed all criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Both Comey and James have been critics of President Donald Trump and argued that the charges against them were politically motivated. The judge who dismissed the charges described them as “unlawful exercises of executive power.” Jackson Proskow reports.
Plus, Sudan’s top general has rejected a ceasefire proposal put forward by U.S.-led mediators, calling it unacceptable and the “worst yet.” This rejection is a setback for efforts to end the devastating war that has plagued the African nation for over 30 months. Earlier this year, the Canadian government announced plans to bring thousands of Sudanese refugees to Canada. However, as Jeff Semple reports, Sudanese Canadians say their loved ones are dying while waiting for their applications to be processed.
