Global NewsCarney says “constructive” discussions ongoing on pipeline deal from Alberta to BC North Coast

Prime Minister Mark Carney wrapped up his participation at the G20 Summit in South Africa on Sunday, where he addressed various issues, including the potential for a new oil pipeline agreement between Ottawa and Alberta aimed at transporting oil to the British Columbia coast.
 
Reports suggest that Ottawa and Alberta are near an agreement for a memorandum of understanding regarding a tradeoff—a new pipeline for new emissions reductions.
 
Responding to questions about the negotiations, Carney said “Those discussions are ongoing. They have been constructive. There is a prospect that an agreement, it’s not yet finalized.”
