She has also grappled with seeing Israel’s bombardment of Gaza over the last two years.

Palestinian health officials estimate at least 68,000 people in Gaza have been killed since the October 7 2023 attack in which Hamas militants killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and took 251 hostages, according to the Israeli government.
