Hindustan Times On Cam: China Hits Back At Japan Over Senkaku Islands Coastguard Patrols; ‘Unreasonable Claims’ | Xi

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, slammed Tokyo’s objections as ‘unreasonable’ after China sent coast-guard ships into the waters around the Senkaku Islands.

Mao then called for calm after Japan warned its nationals in China to avoid crowded areas, while China advised its citizens to reconsider travel to Japan.

It comes after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told parliament that Japan might respond militarily if China attacked democratic Taiwan. Beijing has demanded a retraction and stressed that Tokyo must respect the foundations of Sino-Japanese relations. Watch the video to find out more.
