Jaishankar in Moscow as India, Russia Prepare for Putin’s Visit Next Month | Firstpost Live | N18G

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is in Moscow for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s expected visit to India next month. Jaishankar said several bilateral agreements and initiatives are being finalised for the upcoming summit. Lavrov described India–Russia ties as a “particularly privileged strategic partnership” and emphasised efforts to strengthen economic cooperation despite sanctions pressure. Jaishankar noted the significance of the 23rd annual summit, where both sides are expected to expand their long-standing strategic partnership. He also highlighted India’s continued engagement in global conflicts, including Ukraine, the Middle East and Afghanistan.
