Following the busting of a new “doctors’ module” of terrorism, authorities have sounded a high alert at the Jammu Railway Station and intensified security across the city. Heavy deployment of security forces has been put in place both at the station and in its surrounding areas.

“The alert was there two days back at Jammu Railway Station, but now there is a high alert,” senior railway officer Udipan Sharma told Rising Kashmir.

Sources said additional personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have been deployed in view of the heightened threat perception. The RPF, a central force, and the GRP, a state force, are jointly maintaining strict vigil through CCTV surveillance, while all passengers entering and exiting the station are being thoroughly frisked.
