ANI News Tekanpur Academy trains women BSF in drone warfare after India’s decisive win with Op Sindoor

The Border Security Force (BSF) Academy in Tekanpur, Gwalior, is currently the only BSF academy in the country offering specialized training such as the Women Drone Commando Course and Drone Warfare Course. The BSF is adopting the latest technologies in its operations, marking a new chapter in its history. At the BSF Academy Tekanpur, the School of Drone Warfare (SDW) is providing operational training to its first female squadron, known as the “Durga Drone Squadron.” Each unit in this squadron trains 30–35 women personnel. These women are being trained with modern technology in security-related aspects of border management. Their training includes piloting and controlling drones along the border by female sentries, conducting surveillance, countering imminent threats, measures to tackle cross-border threats, and developing technical proficiency for disaster response. The training lasts six weeks.
