The 8th Pay Commission is expected to bring a major salary hike for central government employees. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was 2.57, which increased the basic pay from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000. As per reports, the 8th Pay Commission is considering three fitment factors — 1.92, 2.08, and 2.86 — and experts believe 1.92 is the most likely. If this is approved, the Level 1 employee’s basic pay will rise from ₹18,000 to ₹34,560. Adding HRA (₹10,368 for X cities) and TA (₹1,350), the gross salary could reach ₹46,278. After deductions like NPS and CGHS (around ₹3,706), the net salary will be ₹42,572. This effectively means a take-home salary hike of nearly ₹24,000 per month, marking a significant boost in income for millions of government employees across India.

8वें वेतन आयोग के आने से सरकारी कर्मचारियों की सैलरी में बड़ा इज़ाफा होने वाला है. 7वें वेतन आयोग में फिटमेंट फैक्टर 2.57 था, जिससे बेसिक पे ₹7,000 से बढ़कर ₹18,000 हुई थी. अब 8वें वेतन आयोग में तीन नए फैक्टर — 1.92, 2.08 और 2.86 — पर चर्चा हो रही है. एक्सपर्ट्स का मानना है कि फिटमेंट फैक्टर 1.92 तय हो सकता है. ऐसे में लेवल 1 कर्मचारी की बेसिक सैलरी ₹18,000 से बढ़कर ₹34,560 हो जाएगी. इसमें HRA ₹10,368 (X सिटी) और TA ₹1,350 जोड़ने पर ग्रॉस सैलरी ₹46,278 बनेगी. कटौतियों के बाद हाथ में आने वाली सैलरी ₹42,572 रहेगी. यानी कर्मचारियों को हर महीने करीब ₹24,000 का फायदा मिलेगा. यह बदलाव लाखों कर्मचारियों के लिए बड़ी राहत साबित होगा.
