WASHINGTON DC – The U.S. Supreme Court hears President Donald Trump’s bid to preserve his sweeping tariffs pursued under a 1977 law meant for emergencies after lower courts ruled that he overstepped his authority in imposing most of the levies that have been central to the Republican president’s economic and trade agenda.
As the Supreme Court takes up the case, questions loom over President Trump’s sweeping use of emergency powers to impose global tariffs.
