ट्रंप के लिए सबसे बुरी खबर आई न्यूयॉर्क से न्यूयॉर्क में मेयर का चुनाव डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के कैंडिडेट ज़ोहरान ममदानी ने जीता. ममदानी ने न्यूयॉर्क के ex governor एंड्र्यू कुओमो को हराया है. जिनको प्रेसिडेंट डॉनल्ड ट्रंप ने भी सपोर्ट किया था, इंटेरेस्टिंग बात ये है कि न्यूयॉर्क में ट्रंप ने अपनी पार्टी के कैंडिडेट के बजाय एंड्रूयू कुओमो को सपोर्ट किया, ताकि ज़ोहरान ममदानी को जीतने से रोक सकें. लेकिन, ज़ोहरान ममदानी चुनाव जीतकर अमेरिका के सबसे बड़े शहर न्यूयॉर्क के पहले मुस्लिम मेयर बन गए हैं. ज़ोहरान ममदानी भारतीय मूल की फिल्ममेकर मीरा नायर के बेटे हैं. ज़ोहरान ममदानी ख़ुद को डेमोक्रेटिक सोशलिस्ट कहते हैं. उन्होंने न्यूयॉर्क का चुनाव कई ऐसे वादों पर जीता है. जिनकी पूरी दुनिया में चर्चा हो रही है.

Interestingly, Trump supported Andrew Cuomo instead of his own party’s candidate in New York, in order to prevent Zohran Mamdani from winning. However, Zohran Mamdani won the election and became the first Muslim mayor of New York, America’s largest city. Zohran Mamdani is the son of Indian-origin filmmaker Mira Nair. Zohran Mamdani calls himself a democratic socialist. He won the New York election on several promises that are being discussed all over the world.
