Canada budget 2025: Carney looking to cut civil service, boost capital spending
The Carney government laid out its first federal budget, pledging billions in new spending aimed at reshaping Canada’s economy in the face of U.S. tariffs.

It also includes big cuts to the civil service: 10 per cent or around 15,000 positions.

As Touria Izri reports, the financial plan comes with a significant deficit.
