Scammers, recruiters and syndicate members will face mandatory caning of 6 to 24 strokes under new laws. Mules who provide their bank accounts, SIM cards or Singpass can get up to 12 strokes, at the court’s discretion. Scams now make up 60 percent of all reported crimes.
