Transportation Sec. Duffy: Shutdown will have ‘long term’ impacts on air traffic control system
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Monday air traffic controllers’ finances will “start to fall apart” after missing two paychecks due to the government shutdown, which could lead to “long term” consequences.

Duffy told CNBC that at a time where he is trying to add more controllers to the understaffed system, the shutdown could start pulling controllers out of the system as they look to other lines of work for income.
