“Not Going to Blame India”: Finland’s President on India’s Russian Oil Purchases | Palki Sharma
Amid rising Western pressure on India over Russian oil imports, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb has come out in support of New Delhi’s independent foreign policy. Speaking to Firstpost Managing Editor Palki Sharma, President Stubb said: “This is a decision that India does all by itself – it’s a big player, it’s an independent player – and it decides what’s best for its foreign policy.” His remarks follow the US decision to impose 25% punitive tariffs on Indian exports, despite China and Europe continuing energy trade with Russia.
